1. Information We Collect

We collect different types of information depending on how you interact with MmowW Shamp👀:

Photo Data Handling

Photos uploaded by members (evidence) and consumers (reviews) are processed as follows:

Compression: All photos are converted to WebP format and compressed to reduce storage costs (typically 30-60KB per image).
Storage: Photos are stored in Supabase Storage with access controls. Member evidence photos are private by default; consumer review photos are public.
EXIF data: GPS coordinates and camera metadata (EXIF data) are automatically stripped from all uploaded photos before storage.
Facial recognition: MmowW does NOT perform facial recognition or biometric analysis on any photos.
Deletion: Members can delete their evidence photos at any time. Consumers can request review photo deletion by contacting info@mmoww.net (processed within 30 days).
Estimated cost: Photo storage costs approximately ¥30-60/month per active store, covered by MmowW (not charged to members).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and improve the MmowW Shamp👀 service.
Calculate and display salon hygiene scores and badge tiers for participating stores.
Send operational notifications (daily reminders, weekly reports, badge upgrades) if you have opted in.
Process subscription payments through Stripe.
Display store safety information on the consumer portal (only for stores that opt in to public visibility).
Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve our library and tools.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. MmowW Shamp👀 is ad-free.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

Stripe: Payment processing (PCI DSS compliant). We never store credit card numbers.
Supabase: Database hosting (SOC 2 Type II compliant, data encrypted at rest and in transit).
Consumer Portal: If you opt in, your store name, location, safety score, badge tier, and selected evidence are visible to consumers.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data via your SaaS profile.
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data. Contact info@mmoww.net.
Portability: Export your salon hygiene records in CSV/PDF format from the SaaS platform.
Opt-out: Disable consumer portal visibility, email notifications, or marketing communications at any time.

For EU/UK users: These rights are provided in accordance with GDPR. For Japanese users: In accordance with APPI (Act on the Protection of Personal Information).

5. Data Security, Retention, and Transfers

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including Row-Level Security (RLS) on all database tables, Zod input validation on all API endpoints, encrypted connections (TLS 1.3), and regular automated backups.

Retention

Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account plus a grace period (30-90 days depending on data type) to allow for account recovery. After deletion, data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

International Transfers

Your data may be processed in Japan (our primary jurisdiction), the United States (Supabase hosting), and other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.

Children

MmowW Shamp👀 is designed for beauty salon operators and adult consumers. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform and/or email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
